P.A.D.S. (Public Action to Deliver Shelter)

On Wednesday, October 5, our doors opened to the homeless in our community, providing shelter, meals and fellowship
every Wednesday evening through April 25, 2012.

The goal of the P.A.D.S. program is to provide hospitality, food, and emergency shelter to homeless people from October
1 through April 30 of each year, seven days a week from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., including holidays. Each site hosts
guests one night per week and is staffed entirely by volunteers who set up and supervise sleeping accommodations for
the night, serve dinner and breakfast, and prepare a sack lunch “to go”, all in a welcoming, supportive, safe environment.
Each Wednesday evening we serve as a P.A.D.S. site, as many as 20-25 volunteers are needed for staffing in shifts.
Eighteen P.A.D.S. sites are located in the Northwest Suburban area with funding provided
by faith communities, individuals, social and civic organizations, corporations, and foundations.

We are seeking people to complete our volunteer roster. If you are interested or feel God calling you to be part
of this ministry to the homeless or if you have questions, please contact one of our Volunteer Coordinators:
Elaine Schmucker (847-776-5816 /

or Rupal Taylor (847-821-9987 /
